On Friday 10th August 2018 starting at 9am – for those thirsty early birds – until 9pm, the Swan Brewery team will open its doors to welcome beer lovers and beer-curious people in.
The beer in the spotlight on the tasting day will be Cygneture Ale, a 3.6% flavoursome chestnut ale with all local hops – namely Admiral, Goldings and Target. Other beers available to try are Coscoroba 4.5% American rye beer; Swan Gold 4.0% refreshing golden ale and Ruffled Feathers 3.8% bright, crisp ale.
For the focus beer on a tasting day, everyone is offered a half on the house with the idea that people get to know Swan Brewery ales better. Head Brewer Jimmy Swan has been brewing thousands of pints every week for the past two years over on the Enterprise Park on the south side of Leominster, a stone’s throw from the police station. If the Enterprise Park is not a part of town you’ve needed to go to before, you’ll be surprised at the number of businesses that are there that work directly with the public.
From 4pm there will be Brewman’s Suppers available, a twist on Ploughman’s Lunches! These feature beer bread from Loafers Bakery; Tasty Cheddar from Brights Butchers; ale pickles, chutneys and relishes; home churned butter from Quarry Farm. All great local products showcasing Herefordshire and environs.
